So. I arrived in San Francisco and moved in to the International House of Berkeley. The flight was quite OK, it took less than 11 hours. Boarding was a lot of stress though, since they overbooked the flight. And (ofcourse) I couldn’t check in online due to something with my visa. So I got on a waiting list with other people that would only be able to enter the plane if others (who checked in earlier) would not show up. In the end I was the last one to enter the plane..
ANYHOW, Berkeley is cool. It’s not shokingly different or so, I feel very much at home. The weather is perfect, I guess it’s always between 20 and 30 Celcius. In the morning it is foggy which is very typical for the Bay Area. From noon on it is mostly very clear and thus sunny. People told me that it has not rained in weeks.
The I-House is a lot of fun. I never met so much people in just a few days. It’s crazy, I have trouble remembering names. People are from everywhere. US, NL, DE, SP, IT, Asia.. and so much more.. Not really in that order but yeah..
I met a guy from Eindhoven University, also mechanical engineering, which I never properly met before. Turns out he will be doing research in the same lab as me. Small world..
I’ve been going out already, even in SF. It’s crazy.
To keep it short, room is nice, food is ok, people are cool, I am fine.
Today I made a lot photos of the campus. In a while I will upload them with some SF pics. Take care!
